Ravens coach John Harbaugh joined the flood of congratulatory text messages delivered to Orioles manager Buck Showalter.

The Orioles clinched their first American League East division title since 1997 on Tuesday night with a victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Showalter visited Harbaugh at the Ravens' training complex last year and took part in a coin toss during a Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium in 2012, when the Orioles qualified for the playoffs as a wild-card team. The Ravens won the Super Bowl after that season.

"Oh man, I was jacked up," said Harbaugh, who has attended Orioles games and has thrown out a first pitch at Camden Yards. "I texted Buck, finally got his number. I can't wait to get upstairs to see if he texted back. He's not busy, is he?

"That team is Baltimore. I love their players. I've had a chance to meet a couple of them here and there at a golf thing or two, and just a great bunch of guys. They're resilient, tough, hard-nosed, next-man-up mentality. The Orioles are the real deal. It's fun to watch them."
