Top recruit Byron Cowart posts picture from visit to Maryland

Blue-chip defensive end Byron Cowart posted this picture on Instagram following his official visit to Maryland this past weekend: http://instagram.com/p/s_Plw2oKvh/

Cowart and his close friend, four-star wide receiver Ryan Davis, were in town for the Terps’ game against West Virginia.

In addition to watching the game, the two also reportedly hung out with Maryland standout receivers Deon Long and Stefon Diggs, spent time talking with Terps coaches and learned more about both the university and the football program.

Oregon and Florida are reportedly the two favorites to land Cowart, who is from Seffner, Fla. However, Cowart was at Maryland’s “Big Show” event this summer and has reportedly been high on the Terps ever since, enough so that the first of his five official visits was to Maryland.

Terps commit Jahrvis Davenport, who is from Tampa, Fla., also recently told the Baltimore Sun that one of his coaches saw Cowart wearing a Maryland hat at a seven-on-seven passing camp during the summer.

Time will tell how this plays out. But the Terps do at least appear to be in the mix.
