In this week's recruiting roundup, the Terps lose one of their top basketball targets to West Virginia.

Football recruiting

-- Class of 2015 defensive end target Byron Cowart and wide receiver target Ryan Davis were scheduled to take official visits to Maryland last weekend.

-- Class of 2015 athlete commit Ty Johnson had 145 yards on 12 carries in a 33-7 win last Friday. He added four touchdowns in a 28-20 win Friday.

-- Class of 2015 wide receiver commit D.J. Moore played quarterback and finished with 90 yards and two touchdowns on three carries in a 49-0 win over Boys’ Latin on Thursday.

-- Class of 2015 wide receiver commit Jahrvis Davenport had a 24-yard touchdown catch in a 24-7 loss Friday.

-- Class of 2015 linebacker commit Brett Zanotto, who reportedly underwent an MRI on his shoulder last Saturday, rushed for three touchdowns in a 21-15 win Friday.

-- Class of 2015 defensive back commit Mike Majette had six catches for 95 yards in his first game at wide receiver last Friday, a 34-7 win. He scored a receiving and rushing touchdown in a 49-28 win Friday.

-- Class of 2015 defensive back commit Darnell Savage had 127 yards rushing in a 27-24 win Friday.

Basketball recruiting

-- Class of 2015 forward target Esa Ahmad committed to West Virginia on Wednesday. Ahmad was arguably the top high school senior on Maryland’s recruiting board, and his Mountaineers pledge means the Terps are still without a commit set to enroll next fall.
