Police arrest suspect in stabbing near Dundalk

A man is listed in critical condition at local hospital after being stabbed at an Edgemere motel Thursday night, Baltimore County police said.

About 10 p.m., police found found a man with multiple stab wounds to his middle and upper body at the Sparta Inn in the 6400 block of North Point Road.

Police said the victim was stabbed during a fight with Herman Elbert Summers Jr. of who was taken into custody after he was found in the parking lot of the Sparta Inn.

Summers, 60, of Sparrows Point was charged with attempted first degree murder and first degree assault. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. The victim was not identified.
