Man shot in leg in Madison-Eastend

A man was hospitalized in "serious" condition after being shot in the leg in Madison-Eastend Wednesday night, police said.

The 25-year-old was found in the 600 block of N. Ellwood Ave. in Ellwood Park just before 9 p.m., and investigators later determined he was shot a few blocks away, in the 3000 block of E. Monument St., police said. Officers remained in the neighborhood for more than an hour after the shooting, police said.

No motive or suspect information was released. Southeast District detectives are investigating the shooting, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2422.
