Cab driver shot in the head in Northeast Baltimore

A 43-year-old cab driver was found shot in the head early Tuesday in Northeast Baltimore, police said.

Officials said that police responding to a call of a shooting on the 4400 block of Asbury Ave., in the Belair-Edison neighborhood, around 1:41 a.m. found a Checker Cab vehicle that had been involved in a collision. Inside the car, police said, was a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The man was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
