Northbound JFX to close from President Street to Madison Avenue this weekend

Baltimore motorists warned to expect delays on I-83 due to construction

July 31, 2014|By Colin Campbell, The Baltimore Sun

The northbound Jones Falls Expressway will close between President Street and Madison Avenue this weekend for construction, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation said.

All lanes will shut down between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, officials said. Traffic headed north from the city will be detoured to the interstate's Madison Avenue on-ramp via the Fallsway.

Signs have been posted to alert motorists to the closure, and detour signs will be posted outlining the route, officials said.

"This closure will cause delays and motorists are strongly advised to use alternate routes when leaving the downtown area this weekend," the Department of Transportation said in a statement.
