Remembering 'Something Good' about Elaine Stritch

July 18, 2014|By Tim Smith, The Baltimore Sun

If you haven't read Charles Isherwood's wonderful tribute to legendary singing actress Elaine Stritch, please do (to paraphrase Ethel Mertz, he said everything I wanted to, but couldn't).

He mentions this poignant performance by Elaine Stritch of "Something Good" from the movie version of "The Sound of Music," which made me want to rush out and hear it. I thought you'd want to hear it, too. (Sorry the audio/visual quality is poor -- the performance is still priceless.)
