Sunshine, dry air and highs in 80s forecast Thursday

July 17, 2014|By Scott Dance, The Baltimore Sun

Relatively cool, dry air over the region will bring clear, sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s Thursday.

A northwesterly flow is bringing slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures and low humidity.

Temperatures dropped to 61 degrees early Thursday morning, just 3 degrees above the record low for July 17. Dew points were in the lower 50s, making the air feel dry and cool. Temperatures were expected to rise above 80 degrees by midday.

The pattern is expected to continue into Friday, with overnight lows again in the lower 60s and highs in the mid-80s.

Clouds are expected to move in by Friday afternoon and remain over the region through the weekend. Lows in the mid-60s and highs around 80 degrees are forecast Saturday and Sunday, with chances for storms Sunday afternoon and evening into Monday.
