Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay

The organization needs volunteers for support of communications efforts (including writing and web, display and document design), tagging and organizing a Flickr photo library, and helping to organize and/or staff restoration projects and events. Also, part-time volunteers are needed to staff the reception desk, provide administrative and clerical assistance (includes research, data entry, answering phones and mailings) and provide support for the headquarters staff. First Sunday Arts Festival

Volunteers are needed to help on four shifts between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each Sunday through October with set-up and assisting the coordinator and exhibitors, musicians and performers. Information: Julie Scott at 410-263-4012 or email juscott10@gmail.com.

Literacy council

Tutors are needed to help combat adult illiteracy. After completing training, volunteers make their own schedule with an assigned student at a place of their choosing or can tutor at local detention centers. Hours are flexible and most work can be done at home. Information: 410-269-4419.

North County Emergency Outreach Network

Volunteers are needed to staff the office, stock shelves, bag food for the pantry and donate food and other items for the pantry. Information: 410-766-1826 or olchesapeake.org.

Summer Garden Theatre
