The Blast announced Thursday that it re-signed two players and added a newcomer as the team prepares for the inaugural Major Arena Soccer League season.

Midfielder Tony Donatelli and forward Lucas Roque will return to the Blast and defender Onua Obasi has joined the team.

Donatelli enters his fifth season of professional indoor soccer and his third with the Blast. Last season, he scored a team-high 19 goals and added nine assists to finish with 48 points.

Roque enters his third season with the Blast after finishing with 11 goals and 12 assists last season.

Obasi, a defender, plays outdoor soccer for the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer Leagues' Professional Division. He also has been a member of the England National futsal team.

The Blast now have nine players signed for the upcoming season. After the franchise left the Major Indoor Soccer League at the conclusion of last season, all player contracts were automatically voided.

Blast general manager Kevin Healey expects the team to re-sign most of the players from last year's squad.
