Man dies after being shot in head near Pimlico

Shooting took place Tuesday afternoon

A man died Tuesday shortly after being shot in the head near Pimlico Race Course, Baltimore police said.

The incident took place before 4:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Spaulding Ave. in the Central Park Heights neighborhood. Police said the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim's identity and the suspect's description were not immediately available.

Earlier Tuesday, a man was shot in the back on the city's east side. Police responded at 2:15 a.m. to the 1600 block of Normal Ave. He was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition, police said. Anyone with information may call 410-396-2433.
