McDonogh rising junior Keegan Kelly, an All-Metro first-team midfielder, has been selected to participate in the Under-17 U.S. Men's National Team training camp, which begins on Saturday in Carson, California. The camp runs through Monday.

Last fall, Keegan finished with five goals and 16 assists to help the No. 1 Eagles (21-0-1) to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship.

This past weekend, he led the Baltimore Celtic Club under-16 team to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 championship at the University of Rhode Island. The club went 5-0 to advance to national tournament, set for July 21 at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown.

"He's taken a massive step forward and has really come into his own," said McDonogh first-year coach Brandon Quaranta, who also coaches Kelly at the club level.
