Annapolis Center

Red, white and blue social The event will feature Trudi Marie Woomer performing country music at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2. Wear your patriotic colors while singing songs and enjoying vanilla ice cream and fresh berries.

Charles Taylor and the Availables perform Motown and blues music at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9.

Oldies The Red Right Return band will play rock 'n' roll music from the 1960s and '70s at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16.

Tribute Frank and Trish Curreri will perform the music of Frank Sinatra and Patsy Cline at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.

The trip committee is accepting reservations for a European river cruise on the Danube. The Aug. 2-13 trip includes visits to Prague, Budapest and Vienna. The price depends on the cabin. For information, stop at the Trip Desk. Fliers about this trip and others planned for 2014 are available.

Maryland Insurance Administration A program from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 9, will be led by Patricia Dorn of the Consumer Education and Advocacy Unit, the state agency that enforces insurance laws. Bring questions and concerns.

Movie on the big screen "Saving Mr. Banks" at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9.

Summer classes Registration is underway for classes beginning Monday, July 7.

The Knitting Group meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Mondays of each month. All levels of knitting expertise are welcome.

Beginning tap dance An introduction to tap will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. No experience is needed; the instructor is Vicki Smith. Fee is $40.

Jazz dance Vicki Smith leads a class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays. All levels of experience are welcome. Fee is $40.

Creative Crafts Evelyn Bacon will lead classes from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays. Fee is $40.

Aquacise An exercise program conducted in warm water to improve flexibility, mobility and range of motion and boost stamina will take place from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center, 2690 Riva Road in Annapolis. Cost is $40.

Senior housing

Information on assisted-living homes and other housing options for seniors has been updated on the county Department of Aging and Disabilities website at aacounty.org/aging.

Support groups

The Department of Aging and Disabilities has updated a booklet on community support groups. The booklet focuses on groups for caregivers, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement for adults and children, diabetes, brain injury, cancer, stroke, cardiac and pulmonary problems, Parkinson's disease and bowel and urinary diversions. The booklet is free and available at the department, 2666 Riva Road, fourth floor, in Annapolis, or online at aacounty.org/aging/resources/community_support_groups.pdf. Information: 410-222-4257.

Residents' rights

Brochures on residents' rights in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities and a brochure on the ombudsman program protecting those residents are available from the Department of Aging and Disabilities. The brochures are titled "Resident's Rights in Nursing Homes/Rehabilitation Centers in Maryland," "Resident's Rights in Assisted Living Facilities in Maryland" and "Ombudsman: Your Resident Advocate."
