Hersh's, Dooby's team up for a Korean-Jewish dinner

 Have you ever wondered what Korean barbecue would taste like on Jewish-style potato latkes?

How about a Korean variation on a traditional savory noodle kugel?

Well, your wait is almost over.

This Thursday, from 7 to 10 p.m., Hersh's and Dooby's are collaborating on a A Jew-sian Mashup, a dinner featuring a number of Jewish-Asian fusion meals like the latkes and kugel dishes, as well as a few side-by-side comparisons, like pork-belly dumplings from Dooby's and kibbeh from Hersh's.

The collaborative dinner is being held at Hersh's, 1843-45 Light St., South Baltimore.

The cost for the dinner is $35. For $55, you get the dinner and all-you-can-drink Union beer. For $65, you also get a cocktail flight and first dibs on the food, starting at 6 p.m.

There's more news from Dooby's: Just last week, the restaurant  introduced a new dinner menu.

The main option is Korean-style ramen with pork belly, sweet corn, kimchee and soft-boiled egg. There's a vegetarian version, too. Dooby's had actually featured ramen on occasional ramen evenings, but now it's a permanent thing.

There are a few other choices on the new dinner menu, like appetizers of cold noodles and miso-charred salmon. And for dinner, you can get a Dooby's burger.

But ramen is the main thing for sure.
