Captain Avery Museum

Volunteers are needed to serve as docents and escort visitors through the museum from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and at special functions. On some occasions, they would be dressed in a costume typical of the 1860s. Training is provided. Information: 410-867-4486.

Environmental center

Volunteers are needed to assist in the education department of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and with activities such as leading field trips and canoe excursions, helping in classrooms, and maintaining aquariums and gardens. No specific experience is required, and all appropriate training will be provided. First Sunday Arts Festival

Patapsco Valley State Park
