Chances of scattered showers and storms are expected Monday, the start of an increasingly humid week.

About a 40 percent chance of rain and storms are forecast throughout the day. After overnight lows in the 60s, temperatures are expected to reach 80 degrees around midday and to the lower 80s in the afternoon.

Dew points are forecast in the mid-60s, an uncomfortable level, and they are expected to only increase over the week, in the upper 60s for the middle of the week and nearing 70 degrees, an oppressive level, by Friday.

Highs are forecast in the mid- to upper-80s Tuesday and Wednesday, with slight storm chances both days.

Storms are likely Thursday and Friday amid highs in the mid-80s.
