Greg LeGrand, who had been coordinator of athletics for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, has been reassigned, a schools spokesman said on Friday.

LeGrand was assigned to a different administrative position elsewhere in the system on May 21, Bob Mosier said. Mosier declined to go into greater detail.

LeGrand was placed on administrative leave April 30. Attempts to reach him Friday were not successful.

LeGrand was hired as coordinator of athletics in August 2006, and was previously the assistant director of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association.

Bruce Lawton, who previously worked part time in the athletics department, is filling LeGrand's position for the time being. Lawton was a longtime athletic director at Old Mill High School.
