A man who was sitting with his neighbors on the steps in front of a house in Brooklyn Park Thursday night was shot several times after multiple suspects walked up and opened fire, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police said the shooting appeared to be targeted and the 39-year-old victim, who was in stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center Friday morning, was uncooperative. The victim was shot several times in the lower body, police said.

The shooting happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Victory Ave., about two miles from the scene of a triple shooting that took place earlier on Thursday in Baltimore's Curtis Bay neighborhood.

Multiple witnesses have been interviewed but the suspects, who ran away after the shooting, have yet to be found. Police did not specify the number of suspects or release their descriptions. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-222-6135.
