Before meetings, silence is golden [Letter]

May 08, 2014

Why get so complicated about prayer before government meetings ("Carroll commissioners to discuss handling of sectarian prayers Thursday," May 6)?

Wouldn't it be satisfactory for the person in charge of a government meeting to say: "Now we will begin our meeting with a moment of silence"?
