City attackman Tracy Smith appears in the May 5 issue of Sports Illustrated.

Smith, a senior captain for the Knights' boys lacrosse team, was selected for the magazine's weekly "Faces in the Crowd" feature, which recognizes standout amateur athletes.

SI notes that Smith made the cut after he scored five goals, including the game-winner, in City's recent 10-9 win over Poly, the defending Baltimore City lacrosse champions. Smith also had an assist in that game.

He was dubbed a "Player to Watch" in The Sun's boys lacrosse preview and on April 15 was named Athlete of the Week after his performance versus previously undefeated Poly. He also had five goals and three assists in a win over Patterson that week.

Smith has been accepted to Villanova, Kenyon and the Honors College at Maryland. He does not intend to play lacrosse in college.
