Maryland fell to host West Virginia, 14-2, its worst loss since 2011. The Terps (24-15) didn't score until the sixth inning, by which point the Mountaineers (20-16) led 8-0. … Salisbury moved up one spot, to No. 15, with 268 points, in the poll and three spots, to No. 14, in the ABCA coaches poll.

Men's college lacrosse: Maryland freshman attackman Connor Cannizzaro was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while junior faceoff specialist Charlie Raffa was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Major League Lacrosse: Goalkeeper Devon Wills became the first woman to make an MLL roster; the two-time Women's World Cup gold medalist was named to the New York Lizards' six-player practice squad to start the season.

College Sailing: The No. 3 St. Mary's coed team won the Admiral's Cup on Saturday.

Men's college tennis: St. Mary's senior Andrew Gear (Winters Mill) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Women's college track and field: Coppin State senior Jennifer Mitchell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.
