Easter Egg hunts in Carroll County begin April 12

Easter Eggs hunts will be going on throughout Carroll County starting on Saturday. Area residents are invited to bring their children to the following:

April 12

• A children's Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt will take place at 10 a.m. for children age 3 to fifth grade, at Westminster Baptist Church, 354 Crest Lane, Westminster. 410-848-6330

• An Easter Adventure Egg Hunt will be held at Charlotte's Quest Nature Center, 3400 Wilhelm Lane, Manchester, at 10 a.m. for children up to age 12. There will be four age groups — walking to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 8, and 9 to 12 — with a prize egg in designated hunt areas. Free-will offerings. 410-239-3326.

Westminster will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 1 to 4; and 11:30 a.m. for ages 5 to 8, at Westminster City Park, 11 Longwell Ave. Free. 410-848-9161.

• An egg hunt will be held at 11 a.m. at Carrollton Church of God, 2151 Bethel Road, Finksburg, on the parsonage lawn. A light lunch will be served. Free. 443-717-3210.

• A community egg hunt for children up to fifth grade at Baust United Church of Christ, Old Taneytown Road, Tyrone, at 1 p.m. 410-751-1237.

April 13

• The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company will host a breakfast with the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt at 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy. Breakfast will be served 7:30 to 11 a.m. The hunt begins at noon at the Fire Company Carnival Grounds, Activities Barn. The cost is $8; $5 for ages 5 to 12. 301-829-0100.

Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department will host a breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8 a.m. to noon. $7; $4 for ages 3 to 12.

April 14-19

Mount Airy will host its Main Street Easter Egg Hunt at 7 a.m. April 14. Kids are encouraged to spy the hidden egg in each participating Main Street shop to be entered in a drawing to win a basket of spring treats on April 19.

April 17

Westminster will host a Twilight Egg Hunt at 7:45 p.m. at King Park on Chase Street. Children ages 9 to 12 can bring flashlights and hunt for candy at dusk. Free. 410-848-9161.

April 19

• Eggs, Eggs Everywhere will take place at Piney Run Nature Center, 30 Martz Road, Sykesville, at 10 a.m. Hunt down nature's eggs from insects to large bird eggs on a hike through the park. An "eggstra" tasty treat will be served. The cost is $5. 410-795-6043.

• An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Taylorsville-Winfield Lions Park at 10 a.m. for children age 10 and younger. Each egg will contain a prize. Free. 410-795-4640.
