Orioles still plan to fly to Norfolk

March 28, 2014|By Dan Connolly | The Baltimore Sun

As of 8 p.m. Friday the Orioles were still planning to fly from Sarasota, Fla., to Norfolk Va., early Saturday morning for an exhibition game against their top affiliate.

It’s scheduled for 3:05 p.m. at Harbor Park, the home stadium of the Norfolk Tides.

Saturday’s forecast for Norfolk includes a roughly a 70 to 80 percent chance of rain all day. The Tides have reportedly sold 9,000 tickets to the game, so the Orioles are going to try and get the game in.

Regardless, the Orioles will have a workout Sunday at Camden Yards in preparation for Monday’s season opener against the Boston Red Sox.
