Towson will play its quarterfinal game in the Postseason Tournament on Thursday at Murray State. The game is set to tip at 8 p.m. The Racers (20-11) are members of the Ohio Valley Conference and have been to the NCAA Tournament 15 times, including in 2010 and 2012. The Racers breezed past Omaha, 86-62, on Monday night to advance to the CIT's quarterfinals. The Tigers (25-10) earned their spot an 83-77 victory at East Tennessee State on Friday. Sophomore guard Four McGlynn paced the Tigers with a season-high 23 points, including six 3-pointers. The Tigers and Racers have met twice, each squad winning on its home court ... Towson senior forward Jerrelle Benimon was selected to compete in the 2014 Reese's College All-Star Game on April 4 in Dallas. The game, which features 20 of the top senior college basketball players in the country, will begin at 4:30 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, site of the Final Four. Benimon is the first Tiger to compete in the all-star game, now in its sixth year of existence. He has helped the Tigers to a Division I school-record 25 wins this season and a berth in the quarterfinals of the Postseason Tournament. Benimon leads Towson in scoring (18.7 points per game), rebounds (11.3 per game) and assists (3.7 per game). doubles.

Terps pitcher Stinnett gets ACC and national honors

Maryland senior Jake Stinnett was selected as Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season and named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week for his performance against then-No. 11 North Carolina State. Stinnett is the first ACC pitcher to earn three weekly league awards in a single season since 2011. He struck out a career-high 14 batters in Maryland's 10-0 victory against the Wolfpack on Friday. Stinnett's 14 strikeouts are the most by a pitcher in an ACC game and the most for a Terps pitcher since 2008.

More Division I: Coppin State junior catcher William "Alex" Brown was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week after helping the Eagles win a weekend series against Delaware State. He hit .375, and had a three-run home run to lead the Eagles to a 7-6 win on Saturday.

Division III: Johns Hopkins junior left fielder Colin McCarthy was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week after batting .611 with 10 runs and six RBIs to help the Blue Jays win five games last week in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Two Towson women win weekly conference awards

Towson senior attacker Ashleigh Rohrback (Westminster) and senior midfielder Katie Leech (Westminster) received Colonial Athletic Association weekly honors. Rohrback was named CAA Player of the Week, while Leech won the Defender of the Week award. Rohrback, the CAA preseason Player of the Year, picked up her first weekly honor of the season after registering 16 points — seven goals and nine assists — over a pair of Towson wins , against California and UC Davis, last week. Leech had four ground balls, six draw controls and four caused turnovers in the week. ... Loyola Maryland junior Annie Thomas (John Carroll) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. For the week, Thomas recorded a team-high 11 points on seven goals and four assists. She finished with five goal and assists in a 16-5 win over Bucknell on Wednesday and followed it with two goals and an assist in a 12-4 victory against Lehigh on Saturday.

Division III: No. 1 Salisbury claimed two Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards this week, as junior attacker Shelby Nemecek (Liberty) won Co-Offensive Player of the Week and junior midfielder Bethany Baer (Westminster) was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week ... Franklin & Marshall senior attacker Caroline Krohn (Towson) was named Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week ... St. Mary's junior attacker Christy Bishop (Glenelg) picked up her first career CAC Offensive Co-Player of the Week award. She scored five goals in a 10-7 win over Christopher Newport on Saturday.

Men: Loyola Maryland senior attacker Justin Ward was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, becoming the third different Greyhounds player to win the honor in the past four weeks. Ward had a combined eight assists and four goals in two games last week, helping the Greyhounds extend their record to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot League. ... Towson freshman midfielder Ryan Drenner was named CAA Rookie of the Week after helping the Tigers to a 2-0 week with three goals and two assists ... No. 8 Virginia cruised to a 21-3 victory against in-state foe Virginia Military Institute. Freshman attackers Ryan Lukocovic and Joe French led the way for the Cavaliers (7-2), scoring four goals each. Junior midfielder Ryan Tucker (Gilman) scored the first goal for the Cavaliers, while Ian Marinacci (Broadneck) added a goal for the Keydets (1-8).
