Men's lacrosse roundup: Salisbury defeats Washington, 12-7, in 'War on the Shore'

Alex Taylor (Glenelg) made 15 saves and Greg Korvin (Arundel) had two assists in a crucial third-quarter run as host Salisbury beat Washington College, 12-7, in the "War on the Shore" men's lacrosse game to reclaim the Charles B. Clark Cup on Wednesday.

The Sea Gulls (8-0) led 7-3 at the half before going on a 4-1 run. Korvin (two goals) assisted on Salisbury's first two goals of the second half. Grant Hughes scored a game-high three goals for the Shoremen (5-1).

Hood 8, District of Columbia 4: James Weger set a school record with seven caused turnovers as the host Blazers (2-4) got their first win over a Division II opponent, the Firebirds (1-4).

Weger broke the previous record of six, held by himself and three other players. The junior also had four ground balls.

Denison 18, St. Mary's 9: The Big Red (6-0) opened with a 3-0 run and never trailed the Seahawks (3-4) in a game played at Johns Hopkins.

Frostburg State 14, McDaniel 12: Ryan Serio (Chesapeake-AA) scored four goals to lead the Bobcats (6-2) past the host Green Terror (3-4).

Pat Bivons (Loyola) had a hat trick for McDaniel.
