The Macy's store at the Mall in Columbia was burglarized early Wednesday morning.

At around 4:50 a.m., two unknown men smashed open a window to break into the store, Howard County Police said. They fled the scene without taking anything after they were confronted by a Macy's employee.

The suspects were seen driving a black Dodge pickup truck.

Fire crews initially responded to a call claiming there was a car in the Macy's building, but found no vehicle inside when they arrived at the location, according to the Howard County Fire & Rescue Twitter account.
