Steve Smith to make $9.5 million total in 2014 between Ravens, Panthers compensation

Wide receiver has $5 million still owed from the Panthers; $4.5 million in bonus and salary combined on new Ravens deal

Newly-minted Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith is due $9.5 million in total compensation this year, according to league sources.

Smith is due $5 million from the Carolina Panthers: $3 million in guaranteed salary and another $2 million in deferred bonuses.

The 34-year old five-time Pro Bowl selection gets $4.5 million from the Ravens in the first year of his three-year, $11 million contract. That includes a $1 million base salary and a $3.5 million signing bonus.

Smith has a $2.166 million first-year salary-cap figure for the 2014 league year.

He has a $3 million base salary in 2016 and a $3 million base salary in 2017.

The deal includes a $1 million one-time playtime clause Smith can earn by participating in 60 percent of the Ravens' offensive snaps in any of his three seasons.
