Red Line naysayers would deny Baltimore an opportunity [Letter]

March 12, 2014

The Red Line presents Baltimore with an opportunity. An opportunity to attract retail and residential investors in areas along the line that are falling apart. An opportunity for the city to garner higher ridership given that more people ride trains than buses. An opportunity to reduce car traffic from congested central Maryland. Anyone who has not successfully stopped the Red Line or provided feasible comments in the last decade of development is now only discouraging the use of public transportation, negatively impacting communities along the corridor and directly contributing to pollution in the region ("Red Line: Too little for too much," March 7). It's time to step back and see what the city can produce.
