Kooper's to open third restaurant in Jacksonville

The owners of Kooper's Tavern will open a third restaurant this spring in Jacksonville, in Baltimore County.

Kooper's Jacksonville is scheduled to open in early June after renovations, including the construction of an outdoor bluestone patio, to the existing commercial property in The Manor Shopping Center, which has in recent years housed Chops Restaurant & Lounge and Henry's Bistro.

The original Kooper's, in Fells Point, was launched in 1997 when owners Kate and Patrick Russell renamed the former Thames Street Tavern after their yellow Labrador retriever.

In 2009, the restaurant spun off Baltimore's first gourmet food truck, Kooper's Chowhound Burger Wagon. And in 2012, Kooper's North opened in the Roundwood Shopping Center on West Padonia Road.
