An 18-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his father in their home in Dundalk Thursday.

Police said Richard J. Washington and his father, Richard A. Washington, 52, got into an argument at their apartment in the 2000 block of Paulette Road at around 1 p.m. before the younger Washington shot his father several times with a large-caliber gun. The younger Washington was taken into custody when police arrived, while his father was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Police did not release more information on the homicide.

Washington has been charged with first degree murder and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. No attorney was listed for him in court records.
