Ukraine not unlike the U.S. [Letter]

February 27, 2014

In your editorial regarding the political upheaval in Ukraine ("Ukraine's uncharted waters, Feb. 25), one paragraph caught my eye. "The economy is in a shambles, banks are in crisis and the government has run out of money to pay pensions and workers salaries, let alone the country's foreign debt.

Boy, most of that sounds like what has happened to a country near and dear to our hearts. We, the people, had the opportunity to throw the rascals out, but thanks to The Sun and the members of its editorial board, we are a rudderless ship whose captain is doing nothing about the situation but enjoying being the captain.
