A 27-year-old man was killed after he was shot multiple times in Baltimore's Edmondson Village neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.

Police found the victim with severe gunshot wounds in the 700 block of N. Augusta Ave. just after 7:30 p.m. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m.

Early investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the block by an unknown assailant who then fled the scene. No motive has been identified, police said.

In a separate overnight incident, a woman was in the buttocks while she was smoking outside in the Frankford neighborhood.

The victim was outside of a business in the 5200 block of Frankford Avenue when she heard several gunshots, police said. She was struck when she tried to run inside the business.

Police responded to the woman at an area hospital where she received treatment at around 12:04 a.m. She was released from the facility in good condition.
