Lecture series The Annapolis Maritime Museum's Maritime Lecture Series continues with Mike Miron, president and CEO of SpaCreekAssociates LLC, presenting "Sixty Years of Wooden Boat Building in Annapolis." Symphony gala The Chesapeake Youth Symphony's annual gala event will take place Saturday in St. John's College's Key Auditorium, 60 College Ave, in Annapolis. The all-day event feature silent auctions, wine receptions and concerts. The afternoon concert is at 2 p.m. with the silent auction beginning at 1 p.m. The evening concert is 7:30 p.m. with silent auction at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50; $10 for students. Future

Concert Grammy nominee Frenchie Davis performs at 8 p.m. March 7 in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts at Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. Davis, a Washington native, was a contestant on the second season of "American Idol." She has performed on Broadway and received a Grammy nomination for her role in "Ain't Misbehaving." Concert is part of the college's recognition of Women's History Month. Tickets are $10, $7 for AACC faculty and staff, and $5 for students with valid AACC ID. Oyster roast The fourth annual Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning featuring music by the Eastport Oyster Boys and Dan Haas Band will be held from noon to 4 p.m. March 22 at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 Second St. The event includes an oyster-shucking contest and skipjack boat rides at 12:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. Beer, wine, food and additional beverages will be available for purchase. Awards dinner The 25th annual Ed Casey Youth of the Year Awards Dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 10 at the Sheraton Hotel, 173 Jennifer Road in Annapolis.
