One person was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in a house in Towson Monday night, Baltimore County fire officials said.

At around 9 p.m., someone called the fire department reporting that a third-floor bedroom was on fire in the first block of Center Road, across East Joppa Road from Towson Place, fire officials said. The fire, which spread to an attic, was under control by about 9:40 p.m.

One person was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with smoke inhalation injuries, but fire officials had no more details about the situation. All occupants were out of the house when firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
