Baltimore police are investigating two officer-involved shootings Wednesday night, the department said.

In the first, a patrol officer shot a robbery suspect outside a Liberty Square convenience store Wednesday night after seeing a store clerk inside with his hands in the air, police said.

The officer pulled up to the 7-Eleven store in the 2500 block of Liberty Heights Ave. around 8:15 p.m., police said, just as the suspect was leaving with the cash register till in hand. The officer fired at least two shots at the man, who was taken to an area hospital and was listed in "stable" condition, police said.

No other injuries were reported. Police said the suspect — who they said matches the description of a suspect from a robbery just 15 minutes earlier on Cold Spring Lane — hinted to the 7-Eleven clerk that he had a weapon in his pocket, but none was found at the scene.

Officers closed Liberty Heights Avenue northbound at the scene Wednesday night, and the investigation is ongoing.

Around 11 p.m., police reported that an officer shot another individual in the 1800 block of Spence St. in Morrell Park. No further details were available late Wednesday.

The incidents were Baltimore's third and fourth police-involved shooting this year.
