About an inch of snow is expected to fall on the Baltimore area Sunday, forecasters said.

The snow is expected to start in the afternoon with light snow continuing into the early evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to hover in the lower 30s for most of the day and dip into the 20s in the evening, forecasters said.

About an inch of snow was predicted for Baltimore City and Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Anne Arundel Counties.

Carroll County could see a little more, up to about three inches, the weather service said.

And, as has been the case for much of this winter, there could be more snow on the horizon.

The weather service called for snow or rain on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
