NO. 14 OHIO STATE MEN (0-0) @ NO. 15 JOHNS HOPKINS (0-0)

Sunday, 11:30 a.m.

Outlook: The host Blue Jays have won all four previous meetings in the series, but the last contest took place in 2002. In the season before the Big Ten begins lacrosse play, Johns Hopkins is relying on an offense powered by junior attackman Wells Stanwick (24 goals and 23 assists in 2013) to solve a Buckeyes defense led by senior goalkeeper Greg Dutton (8.96 goals-against average and .523 save percentage).

Saturday, noon

Outlook: The defending national champion Tar Heels open their title defense against one of only two teams they lost to a year ago. The Gators won last year's season opener 5-3, their first win in four tries against North Carolina. This time, the Tar Heels should have the edge with a veteran team while Florida is regrouping after graduating its original recruiting class.
