Sun's fire photos show poor taste [Letter]

February 04, 2014

I was appalled by The Sun's full page photo montage ("Fire and Ice," Jan. 31) showing the destruction of a house in the Roland Park area caused by a recent fire. The Sun displayed shockingly poor taste in its attempt to show the "juxtaposition of destruction and beauty" and the "interesting geometric shapes" left by the frozen water used to extinguish the blaze.

An irreplaceable historic house was totally destroyed and, more importantly, a family lost its home. There is no beauty in The Sun exploiting this terrible loss for artistic purposes.
