Frigid cold may be out of the weather forecast, but it should still feel like winter next week, with chances of snow and ice forecast Monday and Tuesday.

Precipitation could start late Sunday night or early Monday morning, with light rain and snow possible through the morning rush hour. The National Weather Service forecasts a 50 percent chance of precipitation Monday.

High temperatures are forecast in the mid-30s.

Local meteorologist "Eric the Red" suggests it could be a nuisance-level event for commuters, with precipitation falling as a wet mix of rain and snow, unlike the recent accumulations of dry, powdery snow.

Rain and snow are again possible Tuesday, reaching a 70 percent likelihood by Tuesday night, with overnight lows around freezing.
