Furniture Solution in Arnold is closing because the owner plans to retire. A CVS drugstore will be built in its place.

The furniture store at 1500 Ritchie Highway will start a going-out-of-business sale Thursday.

Owner Gerard Kvasnovsky, who manages the business with his wife and lead designer Nasrin Rezvani, said in an announcement the building will be demolished and the property redeveloped as a CVS drugstore.

The furniture dealer, founded under another name in 1986 and in Anne Arundel County since 1993, has operated as Furniture Solution in its current location with a 30,000-square-foot showroom for four years.

Kvasnovsky said the store sells an eclectic mix of living room, bedroom and home office furniture, including mattresses and leather seating. He's hoping to sell off all the inventory at discounts of up to 65 percent, including brands such as Stanley, Bernhardt, Lexington, Henredon, Natuzzi, Sam Moore, Drexel Heritage, Tempur-Pedic, Saloom and McCreary Modern.
