Man shot in the head early Monday downtown

Police also identify victim in fatal stabbing Saturday

A man was shot in the head early Monday near the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower and other attractions on the west side of downtown Baltimore.

Baltimore City police discovered the man with a gunshot to the back of the head at 1:47 a.m in the first block of South Eutaw Street, according to a news release.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The shooting occurred about a block away from the historic tower, near a luxury apartment building and just blocks from University of Maryland Medical Center.

Police said that district detectives are investigating the shooting. They ask anyone with information about the case to call investigators at 410-396-2411.

Also Monday, police identified the victim in an unrelated stabbing.

Arrington Michael Sydnor, 29, of the 2800 block of Quantico Ave., died from his wounds early Saturday. Police had discovered him in the 2000 block of Wheeler Ave. in Northwest Baltimore around 5 a.m. Saturday with stab wounds to his neck and face.
