Fireworks' intolerable noise [Letter]

January 16, 2014

Commentator Fred Medinger's discussion of the unnecessary and loud noise brought on by fireworks merits reflection ("Fireworks shock and intimidate," Jan. 13).

Fireworks under controlled circumstances at certain times of the year are tolerable. However, fireworks used daily in neighborhoods for the sake of loud and unnecessary noise should not be tolerated. Authorities should see to it that the laws regulating fireworks are enforced.
