A 59-year-old man was severely injured when he was shot in the head in Northeast Baltimore's Hamilton Hills neighborhood Wednesday evening, police said.

The man, who investigators say was shot in the 2400 block of Pickering Dr., walked into to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, around 5 p.m.

Because of the severity of his injuries, both Northeast district and homicide detectives were investigating.
