Thanks for rescuing my purse [Letter to the Editor]

January 14, 2014

"Thank you!" This is my only way of reaching out to the gentleman that recovered my handbag from the roadway on Jan. 10, 2014.

I was careless and left the purse on the top of the trunk of my car. As I left home, and turned south onto Route 924, apparently the handbag fell off. Three stops and 35 minutes later, I realized what had happened.

This kind, caring, honest and thoughtful person had delivered my bag (intact) to my neighbor. He did not leave his name or any information that would enable me to thank him in person, give him a reward, treat him to dinner or even bake him a cake.

Sir, your honesty and integrity has shown me that you are a true gentleman and have made your family proud. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
