Westervelt's 2 goals, 3 assists not enough for Mammoth on Friday
Forward Drew Westervelt (John Carroll, UMBC) had two goals and three assists, but the visiting Colorado Mammoth lost, 13-11, to the Calgary Roughnecks in the National Lacrosse League on Friday night before an announced 11,232 at Scotiabank Saddledome. Dane Dobbie and Jeff Shattler both scored four goals for the Roughnecks (1-1) in their home opener; the key was a 5-0 run in the second quarter that gave Calgary a 9-5 lead. Westervelt had one word for his team's performance: "disappointed." "We just need to keep our flow moving forward and stay positive, and keep doing what's working for us," he said. "I thought we kind of got off track a bit, and were too slow to get going again." The Mammoth fell to 1-3 on Saturday night, losing, 17-6, at Edmonton (2-0).
