Man found shot in crashed car in West Baltimore

Woman also shot overnight while standing on street

An 18-year-old man was found in his crashed car in West Baltimore Saturday night with a gunshot wound to his head, Baltimore police said.

Officers investigating a car accident at 8:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Cooks Lane found the unidentified man. The car had crashed into a telephone pole. The victim is being treated at an area hospital.

Detectives with the Southwest district are investigating.

Several hours later, a 20-year-old woman was treated for a graze wound to the chest after she was hit by a bullet while standing in the street early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to an area hospital at about 1:45 a.m. for a report of a walk-in shooting victim. The woman, who was not identified, said was she was standing in the 2400 block of W. Franklin Street when she heard a gunshot and realized she had been shot.

Detectives from the Western district are investigating.
