David L. Reid Jr., a retired postal worker, died Dec. 29 of a heart attack at his Northeast Baltimore home. He was 70.

David Lee Reid Jr. was born in Baltimore and raised near Gwynns Falls Parkway. He was a 1961 graduate of City College and attended Howard University. He later served in the Navy.

Mr. Reid worked for 43 years as a mail processing clerk at Baltimore's main post office on Fayette Street. He retired in 2011.

A lifelong movie buff, Mr. Reid also collected films, family members said.

A viewing will be held Thursday at the March Funeral Home East, 1101 E. North Ave., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., when a memorial service will commence.

Mr. Reid is survived by his wife of five years, the former Linda Manning; two daughters, Deborah Rawlings of Northwood and Denise Abrams of New Freedom, Pa.; a stepson, David Manning of Baltimore; a sister, Sandra Miller of Northwest Baltimore; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Earlier marriages to the former Delmita P. Hudson and Ritia Ross ended in divorce.
