A 39-year-old man was killed in a fire that engulfed his Cecil County mobile home early Thursday morning, according to the state fire marshal's office.

Shortly after midnight, around 50 firefighters were called to the one-alarm fire in the 600 block of Blue Ball Road in Elkton, and it took them about 90 minutes to get the fire under control. Curtis Lee Church, who was living inside the home, was pronounced dead, authorities said. No one else was injured.

The cause of the fire, which resulted in about $50,000 worth of damage, is under investigation. A cause of death for Church has not yet been determined.
