A fire seriously damaged a warehouse in Savage early Saturday as more than 50 firefighters worked to put out the blaze.

The Howard County Fire Department said the fire started just after midnight in a storage rack containing flooring materials, but were still investigating the cause. A crew of Howard County Firefighters remained on the scene at 9000 block of Maier Road to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

The fire took about two hours to get under control and equipment from neighboring Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties was called in to help fight the blaze. No one was hurt in the fire, the department said.

A damage estimate was not available at this time, the department said.
